WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Your private tour will begin with a hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza. You will then go to the Giza Plateau in an air-conditioned minivan. Admire the pyramids as you enter the site escorted by an Egyptologist guide. As your guide describes how these colossal tombs were constructed for three pharaohs in approximately 2,500 BC, you can take pictures and listen. Enjoy free time to independently explore one of the pyramids (at an extra expense); your guide is not allowed to go with you. Alternatively, enjoy the broad vistas of central Cairo with a quick ride on a camel.

View the Valley Temple and the mysterious Sphinx.

After that, take a quick drive to Sakkara, where the oldest pyramid in Egypt was built in 2,650 BC. Discover how this amazing stepping building was constructed for Pharaoh Djoser while admiring it and taking your time exploring.

Next, proceed to Memphis, which served as Egypt’s administrative hub and ancient capital until approximately 2,925 BC. See the UNESCO-listed ruins and sculptures in its outdoor museum, and don’t miss the star turn—a magnificently massive, toppled statue of Ramses II.

Take a lunch break (at extra cost) on your explorations and stop by a papyrus institute to witness the age-old art of papyrus painting in action. See the artists at work and consider purchasing some of the delicate pieces.

The day tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
