WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
In an air-conditioned car, you will be picked up in the late afternoon from your hotel and driven to the Giza Train Station for your overnight excursion to Luxor.
Upon your arrival in Luxor, your guide for the day will greet you at around 7am (subject to arrival times).
You will first go to the West Bank to see the ancient Egyptian burial complex, popularly referred to as the City of Dead.
You will travel to Gurna’s Valley of the Kings, an ancient Pharaoh’s graveyard tucked away in the limestone hills and foothills.
After that, you’ll go to the Hatshepsut Temple, which is a unique funerary temple because it’s the only one in Egypt constructed with terraces carved out of the side of a cliff. Hatshepsut was a well-known female pharaoh who attempted to usurp the throne for herself by dressing like a man and adopting all of his regalia.
Next up are the Memnon sculptures. The pharaoh is seen seated on his throne in these last surviving statues in front of Amenhotep III’s mortuary temple.
After that, you’ll cross the Nile to reach the East Bank.
Visiting the largest ancient Egyptian temple complex, the Karnak Temples, after lunch.
Before going back to the train station to make your way back to Cairo, you will also get to view the Luxor Temple, also referred to as the Temple of the Gods.
You will be taken back to your hotel after arriving in Cairo at approximately 8:30 a.m.
