WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Feluccas are motorless, wind-powered vessels that can only move in the direction of the wind.

This is why the itinerary is not strictly stated. Nevertheless, we stop frequently during our voyage to see interesting sites, swim spots, and to complete our ablutions.

During the day, the felucca sails, and just before dusk, we lower the anchor and moor for the night along the river.

The deck is furnished with plush, colourful couches and rugs, and a canopy provides shade and weather protection. The vessel can easily accommodate five to ten people.

There is lodging on the deck itself. Nothing compares to the sensation of sleeping beneath a canopy of stars, but you will need to pack a towel and a sleeping bag or sheet.

In addition to being seasoned sailors, the crew prepares the included melas; nonetheless, they gladly accept assistance. There is a lot of food, despite its simplicity.

Day 1:

You will be transported to your accommodation in Aswan for the night after being picked up at an Aswan port. Following your arrival, take pleasure in your guided tour of the two Aswan dams and Philae Temple. Enjoy your remaining time at leisure and spend the night in your hotel.

Day 2:

You will be driven to Abu Simbel early in the morning. Enjoy your guided tour of the Abu Simbel Temples after your arrival. After that, a typical felucca sailing boat will transport you back to Aswan so that you can begin your Nile tour.

Day 3:

Today you can just sit back and enjoy the sailing and the views around you as you sail downwards toward Luxor.

Day 4:

Following breakfast, you leave from the felucca and head to Kom Ombo in an air-conditioned vehicle. There, you explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, which honours the crocodile god Sobek. After that, you proceed to Edfu and pay a visit to the Temple of Edfu, which honours the falcon-headed god Horus. You proceed to Luxor after these escorted tours, staying the night in your hotel there.

Day 5:

Your guided day tour of the West Bank begins in the morning. You start by going to the most well-known collection of royal tombs, the Valley of the Kings. You will be taken to the Temple of Ramses III, or Medinat Habu, after touring the tombs. You will next be taken to see the Colossi of Memnon, which are the two largest ancient statues in Egypt and were created during King Amenhotep III’s reign.

Overnight in your hotel in Luxor.

Day 6:

Your escorted day tour begins in the morning with a visit to Karnak, located on the East Bank of Luxor. Karnak, one of the most exquisite ancient buildings in Egypt, is a complex of temples constructed during several pharaonic periods that surpasses all other pharaonic monuments in beauty. You will be taken to the Luxor Temple, which honours the Theben Triad of Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu, after visiting Karnak. The granite statues of Ramses the Great are located there. Travellers visiting Luxor should not miss seeing these historic monuments.

Overnight in your hotel in Luxor.

Day 7:

In the morning you will be taken to a Luxor port for your departure.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Beer, soft drinks, and water are all reasonably priced on board, and a tab is kept for each purchase. Everyone pays their alcohol tab on the last day!

Although there aren’t any restrooms on board, the captain frequently makes pauses along the way for swimming, ablutions, and sightseeing (in the safer parts of the Nile, where the water moves quickly and reduces the risk of bilharzia).

Enjoying the vibrant sights of the Nile village life while travelling and making a variety of scheduled or spontaneous stops, the tranquil schedule of living aboard helps us to escape the stress of daily life! We dock at the beach, then retire to the stars for the night.

We run a straightforward yet efficient and hygienic trash disposal system on board our felucca cruises in order to preserve the natural state and beauty of the Nile basin and to help reduce environmental damage. We ask that you please make sure that any sanitary products and toilet paper are placed in the bags we provide. After that, we’ll get rid of the bags.

Burying all other organic garbage is a good idea.

Cigarette ends should be disposed of properly, and drink cans should be compressed.

In other words, not in the Nile! Assist us in aiding the Nile.
