WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Day 1:
From Luxor to Aswan.
Your tour guide will come to your Luxor hotel early in the morning to take you to see the best-preserved Greco-Roman temple in Egypt, the Edfu Temple, which was built between 237 and 57 BC.
Continue driving to Kom Ombo Temple, which is situated on the east bank of the Nile, approximately 70 kilometres farther. This unique double temple honours the gods Sobek, the crocodile, and Horus, the falcon-headed divinity.
Travel to Aswan to see the Philae Temple, which is situated between the Aswan High Dam and the Old Aswan Dam on an island. Egypt’s Ptolemaic and Roman eras saw the construction of the current Temple of Isis. After lunch, make your way to your lodging and spend the night there.
Day 2 :
Journey to Abu Simbel from Aswan.
Your Egyptologist tour guide will drive you to the Abu Simbel temples very early in the morning; the trip should take about three hours. After a fascinating overview of the restoration and history of the larger Amon Re temple and the smaller Hathor temple, take advantage of some free time to explore the temples.
Return to Aswan after the tour to see the Aswan High Dam, which was constructed between 1960 and 1970 to regulate power and Nile floods.
You will then be driven back to your Luxor hotel.
